Number 11 is considered a special architectural marvel, which also houses art and artifacts from the collection of Geoffrey Bawa. The Guest Suite on the 2nd floor provides both elegant and refined home away from home atmosphere accommodation for those enthusiasts of architecture and the arts.

Visitor Guidelines

Please help us in preserving this historic space by observing the following guidelines:

  • Tour times are Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.; Saturday, 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Sunday, 11:00 a.m. Please note that we are unable to accommodate late arrivals.
  • Tour groups operated by third parties are not allowed. Group tours can be booked on + 94 (0)114 337 335 or at
  • The Geoffrey Bawa Trust reserves the rights of admission and management of group sizes. Tour duration is 40 minutes (8 min. short documentary film on the design of the house + 30 min. viewing).
  • Entrance fee of LKR 1,000 per person to be paid before the tour begins (cash payment only, in Sri Lankan Rupees).
  • No outside food or beverages are permitted within the premises.
  • Visitors under the age of 14 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • All backpacks, equipment and large bags should be checked at the office.
  • Mobile phones and other electronic devices must be turned on silent mode.
  • To help make everyone’s visit a pleasant one, please follow the curator or guide at all times.
  • In consideration of other visitors, please refrain from talking on a mobile phone or with each other during the tour.
  • Please do not touch or lean against any objects in the premises.
  • Photography of the entrance, corridor, guest suite and terrace using a handheld camera and without flash is allowed for non-commercial use only. The photographs taken at Number 11 should not be sold, reproduced, distributed, or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner. It is the responsibility of the photographer to ensure that copyright permission is obtained for the use of Number 11 photographs for commercial purposes.   • Video recording of any part of the house or of the documentary film is not permitted.
  • The Geoffrey Bawa Trust takes no responsibility for visitors’ personal effects.
  • Visitors are requested to park their vehicles on Bagatelle Road as parking facilities on the 33rd Lane are not available.
  • For security reasons, Number 11 is under video surveillance.
  • The Geoffrey Bawa Trust reserves the right to ask visitors who do not corporate with the above guidelines to leave the premises.
